UNL Universidade star DE port is known as a university establishment with internationally recognised analysis and quality teaching, increasingly homeward towards second and third cycle education, capable of providing high levels of skilled success to its students and providing relevant services to the community, national and international; a university with distinct components at national level, each in coaching programmes and in pure and applied analysis, and with strategic partnerships of excellence.
Mission
The mission of UNL, as a university establishment that desires to be a reference, is diminished as follows:
a) Competitive analysis at international level, specialising in knowledge base areas, together with analysis geared toward resolution of the issues that have an effect on society;
b) Teaching of excellence, with a growing stress within the second and third cycles, however supported solid primary cycle levels, through competitive tutorial programmes at national and international level, complimentary benefit because the essential live of assessment;
c) A broader base of inter-institutional participation, engaged towards integration of the assorted scientific cultures, with a read to making innovative synergies for teaching and for research;
d) the supply of quality services, each nationwide and internationally, capable of constructing a relevant contribution to social development and to qualification of human resources, giving specific attention to the countries wherever Portuguese is spoken.
